I was laid up with a cold for part of the weekend so instead of having a pity party for myself (okay I did that too) I watched a couple documentaries including Paris is Burning which I found to be particularly apropos when I saw Madonna’s bonanza half-time show tonight. If you haven’t seen the documentary about 80s Harlem drag balls and their constituents you should do so. The people featured are entertaining, articulate and all-around charming gems. And Madonna stole their dance moves and got even more famous.
